Fitchburg Day #2- Circuit Race June 2007

(Chris, myself, Lisa, Elizabeth & Martha outside only decent restaurant in Fitchburg)
& (Lisa, Elizabeth, Martha & I in the back seat of Chris's car after dinner)

I woke up extremely nauseated. I was dizzy and my stomach just wasn't right. The circuit race is short, so I knew I could survive, I just had to get myself to the start line.

The race seemed to be a faster pace then it was last year. After the sharp turn into the climb on the 3rd or 4th lap I dropped my chain like an idiot. Girls zoomed by me and it seemed as if I rolled backwards. F*@#! I thought to myself, that's it! Fitchburg is over. Then the Sram guys hopped out of their car and came to rescue and told me to just time trial myself back on, that I could do it. Well, I would give it a try.

I did catch back on after 3/4 of a lap. It was tough and I was exhausted. Of course I caught back on and had only a few seconds to recover before having to power up the short steep climb again. Urgh!

I spend the rest of the race riding in the pack, trying to conserve some energy for the final lap. I did what I could and placed 12th, keeping my 4th place spot in the general classification (GC).

After the race and a shower, Martha, Lisa, Elizabetha and I rode to the top of the road race's final climb. I didn't remember it being so long. This was going to hurt!
